Domaine Vincent Latour, France

A family run business since 1972 consisting of 8 hectares and producing wine from the famous village of Meursault.

Vincent took over from his father Jean in 1998 and now owns 11 hectares of vineyards in Meursault and Chassagne. The name of the winery was changed from Latour-Labille to Domaine Vincent Latour starting, with the 2010 vintage.

Viticulture

The Domaine owns nearly one hectare of this climat situated just below the village.

Winemaking

As well as the more usual 228 and 600 litre barrels, Vincent has a range of 2,500 litre oak foudres which were made especially for him by the tonnellerie Rousseau in Gevrey Chambertin. These larger casks give the wines a greater freshness and focus - a hallmark of the estate. Grapes are whole bunch fermented and native yeasts are used. Vincent has recently introduced demi-muids into the mix as a result of which his wines undergo a longer élévage. Work in the vineyard follows 'lutte raisonnée' methods and grapes are hand harvested.
